Open/Men's Masters Hockey – South Central
South Central Hockey welcomes players across all Masters age groups who want to continue enjoying competitive hockey and represent the Area.
Our Men's Masters programme provides opportunities for players to compete at regional and national level, with representative teams participating in England Hockey competitions, Area tournaments and Masters events throughout the season.
Whether you are an established Masters player or interested in taking your first steps into representative hockey, we would love to hear from you.
Men's Over 45s Masters
2027 Area Tournament
The South Central Men's O45s will be competing at the 2027 Men's Over 45s Area Tournament.

Trials for the squad will take place at King's School, Winchester, on the following dates:
- Sunday 31 January 2027 – 2:00pm–4:00pm
- Sunday 14 February 2027 – 2:00pm–4:00pm

These dates have been selected to avoid clashes with the England Hockey Masters Cup rounds, should teams progress to the later stages.
Players interested in joining the squad, or anyone who knows a player who may be interested, is encouraged to get in touch with Ben Shaughnessy.
Men's Over 65s Masters
2026/27 England Hockey Cup Campaign
South Central begin their 2026/27 England Hockey Men's O65 Cup campaign away against newcomers Bedfordshire on Sunday 15 November 2026.
South Central will have one team competing in this season's competition.
First Round Fixture
- Match: South Central v Bedfordshire
- Date: Sunday 15 November 2026
- Push-back: 2:00pm
- Venue: Bedford Sports and Hockey Centre
- Address: Chester Road, Bedford, MK40 4HL
The match will be followed by the traditional Masters hospitality, with pie and mash afterwards!
Competition Format
Teams are guaranteed at least three matches, with the competition progressing through the Cup, Trophy and Vase competitions depending on results.
The team manager will be loading fixtures and availability requests onto Teamo shortly.

We are always keen to welcome new players into the squad.
Eligibility: Players must be aged 65 or over during the calendar year 2027 and play for a club in Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire.

Men's Over 70s and Over 75s Masters
South Central also provides representative opportunities for players in the Men's O70 and O75 age groups.
Area trials take place between November and April. Players interested in representing South Central should contact the relevant age-group representative for further information.
