NATIONAL HOCKEY FUND FOR STATE SCHOOLS - FIRST PRIMARY FESTIVAL IN SOUTH CENTRAL

Newbury & Thatcham HC in partnership with the School Games Organiser (SGO) for Park House delivered their first Primary Hockey Skills Festival as part of the new England Hockey initiative linked to the Membership Model. The festival held on Tuesday, 14 October at the home of Newbury & Thatcham HC, Henwick Worthy, was a fantastic success.

 A resounding success with 14 schools attending with over 100 young players participating! The Skills Stations were delivered by Young Leaders from the clubs U16 girls’ team and supported by senior playing members. Well done Newbury & Thatcham a great start to your extensive state school programme.

 The children were really engaged, with lots of smiling faces and they loved the competition element of scoring points. Most of the players were trying hockey for the first time. The club have already received enquiries from parents saying their child wants to come along to try the Sunday morning minis sessions!
