England Regional Over 45s Tournament

Basingstoke Hockey Club are proud to be hosting the England Regional Over 45s Tournament right here at the Down Grange Sports Complex. This will be masters hockey at its finest, and it gets even better – our very own Greg Smith, Basingstoke legend, is captaining the South Central team! Greg’s no stranger to the big stage, having just returned from Valencia, where he represented the Spirit of Masters England squad, going stick-to-stick with international giants from Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Spain. We invite everyone to come down and witness the action; it’s fast, skillful, competitive and a massive honour for our club and town to host. The atmosphere will be electric, the bar will be open and food will be available. Molly, Basingstoke’s very own ladies keeper has just brought home a silver medal from the UK Indoors Grand Slam in Derby! 

Representing the Hockey Mentors U16 Girls team, Molly stood tall (and wide!) between the posts, pulling off save after save in a high-energy, high-pressure weekend of indoor action against some of the best young talent in the country. We are super proud to be helping develop serious talent, and supporting pathways from Down Grange to the national stage for young players that are working hard and dream big. ‘It was an amazing experience playing with such a strong team’ Molly said. ‘I’ve learned loads and can’t wait to get back on the pitch again’. Thinking of picking up a stick again? Or trying hockey for the very first time? Well, you’re in luck as our hugely popular ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions return on Wednesdays, 7–8pm from 18th June at Down Grange. These are fun, social sessions designed for complete beginners and returning players alike.Whether you haven’t played since school or just fancy trying something new to keep fit, this is your moment. We’ll help you develop skills, make new mates, and get stuck into small, friendly games. Whether you’re cheering on the masters, dusting off your shin pads, or just fancy a great day out, Basingstoke Hockey Club has something for everyone this June.
