Inspiring the next generation of hockey players
In2Hockey is all about giving young players the opportunity to enjoy competitive hockey, develop their skills and build a lifelong love of the game.
Across the South Central Area, clubs and schools compete in In2Hockey competitions throughout the season, providing an exciting introduction to tournament hockey for our younger players.
With small-sided hockey, plenty of involvement and a focus on enjoyment and development, In2Hockey provides the perfect environment for young players to grow in confidence both on and off the pitch.
South Central In2Hockey
The South Central Area brings together teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire for Area competitions.
The Area Finals provide an opportunity for county qualifiers to compete against some of the best young teams from across South Central.
Recent finals have featured Under 10 and Under 12 boys' and girls' competitions, with teams travelling from across the Area to compete for South Central honours. The 2026 Area Finals were held at Reading Hockey Club and showcased the enthusiasm, skill and sportsmanship of the next generation of players.

More than just competition
In2Hockey is about much more than winning.
It gives young players the chance to:
- Develop their hockey skills
- Experience tournament hockey
- Build confidence and teamwork
- Make new friends
- Represent their club or school
- Enjoy playing hockey in a positive environment
- Develop a lifelong love of the sport
It also provides valuable opportunities for young coaches, volunteers and umpires to gain experience and develop their own skills.
South Central has previously used the Area Finals as an opportunity for young umpires to receive coaching and work alongside more experienced officials.
For Clubs and Schools
In2Hockey competitions are an excellent way for clubs and schools to give their younger players a taste of competitive hockey.
County competitions provide the route towards South Central Area Finals, with the Area competition bringing together successful teams from across the region.
England Hockey also operates In2Hockey competitions at Area and National level, with pathways to National Finals for relevant age groups.
Area Finals
The South Central In2Hockey Area Finals are a highlight of the junior hockey calendar.
The 2026 finals were held at Reading Hockey Club on Sunday 26 April, with Under 10 competitions in the morning followed by Under 12 competitions in the afternoon.
The day brought together young players from across the South Central region and provided a fantastic celebration of junior hockey.
Looking Ahead
With so many young players getting involved, the future of hockey across South Central looks bright.
