Masters Hockey O40's Men's Regional Tournament

What a fantastic weekend of hockey! 🏑🔥 Our regional team went up against seven others from across England in a fiercely competitive tournament.

With 18 players from 14 different clubs, we knew building chemistry quickly would be our biggest challenge—and that showed early on. But after a tough first day, we regrouped, switched up our formation, and found our rhythm.

Saturday’s results were a mixed bag, but we finished strong on Sunday. A tactical shift to a 3-5-2 formation gave us control in midfield, and it paid off with a solid 2-0 win against South East (who were battling for top spot!). Our final match ended 0-0 against North East, despite dominating play and creating multiple chances.

We ended up comfortably mid-table and proud of the progress we made across the two days. The hockey improved with every game, and it was a real pleasure playing alongside such a great group of lads. 💚

There’s already talk of continuing this journey—more matches, more training, and more chances for players to pull on the green shirt. Bring on the next one! 👊
