State School Tournament

Tuesday 17^th March saw our 3^rd annual state school tournament for U14 boys and U14 girls teams from across the area. The tournament was held at Reading HC, our thanks to them for their support and hospitality. 22 teams were entered, 12 boys and 10 girls teams. The tournament is a 7 aside format to allow teams from schools with not many hockey players to compete.

After an initial seeding phase the teams then competed in a cup and plate competition and all matches were well matched in standard. Umpires were supplied by South Central Umpires, all of whom gave up their time for the day to support such a fantastic event.

The eventual winners and runners up were

Boys Plate – runners up Bay House, winners Petersfield

Boys Cup – runners up Sir William Borlase, winners RGS High Wycombe

Girls Plate – runners up Forest, winners Wood Green

Girls Cup – runners up Gordons School, winners Sir William Borlase.
